MHW

MHW is the latest generation of HiRef water cooled liquid chillers, built using a combination of Scroll ON/OFF and modulating BLDC compressors. Internally developed control software ensures continuous modulation of cooling capacity, reduced inrush currents and the possibility of avoiding installation of thermal storage units for the plant. DC-inverter compressors can be frequency modulated to achieve maximum yield or managed to ensure maximum energy efficiency at all operating points. The control software integrated on the MHW range allows management of the cooling capacity, delivered by Scroll ON/OFF compressors combined with BLDC modulating compressors, according to a dual logic: – maximum power: the compressors are operated by the inverters at maximum frequency to reach set-point conditions quickly – maximum efficiency: the software calculates the point of maximum global efficiency to minimise running costs. DC-inverter compressors are frequency modulated: from an electrical viewpoint this significantly reduces the inrush current. Unit noise emissions are minimised thanks to compressors compartmentalisation in a box with an inner lining of soundabsorbing material (the exclusive HI-BOX® by HiRef). Moreover, the HI-RAIL® extraction system makes maintenance tasks faster and easier. The MHW unit can also be combined with HiRef’s POLYMORPH ® modules to ensure maximum flexibility of system use.
